Storytelling to inspire a love of learning

My wife and I had decided to educate our children ourselves. When I say ourselves, I mean my wife and I taught our children at home.

Considering that all three of our children have not attended formal education, the best words to describe them would be home educated or unschooled.

Olwyn, our eldest daughter, is ten years of age. Linden, her brother, is seven years old. Their sister, Sage, is four years old.

The reasons why my wife and I unschool our children are, to enable them to have the freedom to learn at their own pace, without outside pressure, and to align with a curriculum that’s more heart-centred.

I am Alos, and I am the digital geek behind Pithy Orange. My wife, Esther, composes poetry and short stories in response to things we encounter in our unschooling experience with the children.

Our children contribute to the story creation as well, since we like to get their input in how the storyline develops.

We started Pithy Orange Publications to give a voice to the stories born in our family. We hope that parents who discover us here will engage with us by leaving comments and that our subscribers will walk with us as we create new stories.

Giving feedback will help us create more beautiful stories.

Our goal is to create a storytelling experience that is interactive, living, not stagnant; hence, we will always ask questions that you can share with your children.

These are the story series so far:

Rhyming Tales Poetry

Snake in Derby

Gabriel and Aladin

Princess Raven Black

We are excited to share a new story with you soon.

P.S We will also reflect upon Instagram posts from Juno Magazine:
